Iran supreme leader Khameni declared that what is happening in Syria is different from what happened in Egypt and Tunis. Clearly a sign of a lone supporter of the brutal regime of Bashar and Maher Al-Assad. Moreover; the indictment of 4 members of Hizb-Allah in the assassination of Rafik Harriri (the former Lebanese PM) by the UN Tribunal, is another clear indication of Bashar’s intelligent services involvement. Bashar had kept a close circle of friends consisted of terrorist organizations like Hizb-Allah and terrorist-supporting- rogue regimes like Iran and North Korea. Furthermore; the “circus” in Damascus showing cordial meetings between defunct government members and opposition leaders; is really just a circus; a boring circus if that. These meeting had resulted in some outcome: to expand brutal killings to all members of society, in any town, at any time and all the time, and most importantly at any cost.
Take for example the latest release of a group of intellectuals and professors from jail. Bashar Assad permitted their release to show his willingness to negotiate; only to turn around and order his terrorist group AlShabah to track them immediately following their release and literally beat them up and monitor their movements as if they were on house-arrest. Additionally; the Mukhabarat wiretapping of all communications in Syria resulted in Syrians utter fear of reprisal.
As for those critics who started their labeling of clashes between government army members and oppositions as sectarian violence; for
those critics, you are utterly misinformed and ignorant to “facts on the ground”. The clashes in Homs between Alawites and
oppositions, is just that. Clashes between the defunct Bashar and Maher Assad supporters and their tribe of
supporting Alawites on one hand, and opposition members on the other hand. IT IS NOT sectarian violence. The Alawites clan led by the brutal Assad family, Hafez, Refaat, Bashar and Maher for the last 40 years had killed, robbed, raped and destroyed the peaceful people of Syria. THERE IS NO non-alawite family in Syria who has not been devastated by one of Assad’s actions of rape and death.
Bashar Assad is a perpetual liar who will not grant Syrians any freedom or any basic human rights.
Human rights; is not a term that Alwaites understand and clearly the Assad family did not make any attempts in 40 years to understand, let alone to value or cherish its legitimacy.
